I can’t imagine my life without photography for years. It has grown out of a young girl’s hobby into the way of life, the way of thinking, and became an essential part of me myself.
Being a student, I went hiking and carried an old soviet film camera with me that added as much as a kilo to my duffle. It was called Zenith, was pretty big and couldn’t measure light, so I had a special device for that, which I diligently used in order not to screw up any of the precious thirty-six frames. I loaded films lying in my tent, completely zipped into a sleeping bag because summer in Karelia is the time when nights are just slightly paler than days.
I took my hobby more and more seriously over time. I learned what camera and lenses consisted of and how they work. I read books about color and design, I studied under photographers whose works I liked.
In 2016 I travelled to Guatemala to document the construction of a charity clinic in a rural village Chuinahtahuyup. I experienced a close acquaintanceship with unfamiliar culture, had a chance to represent my own inner emotions with a camera and my intention to devote myself to photography finally turned into a definite decision.
In 2018-2019 I worked for one of the largest photo studios in Hannover, where I gained some invaluable experience and knowledge of advertising and business photography.
In 2020 I spent another month in Guatemala and Nicaragua, where the construction of a second clinic took place. Collaboration with the project Health&Help became a major milestone on my creative carrier and it remains my warmest affection.
I believe that photography is a special art of intimacy with the world. I am happy to pursue this profession and share my vision of beauty with other people.
